What export formats does Llitopy support?

Litopy supports common export formats for sections and whole publications.

Exporting Text Sections

You can export most sections in Markdown (.md) or HTML format. This usually copies a section of a post or book to the clipboard so you can directly paste it into any common publishing system or web site.

Exporting Images

You can download images as .PNG or copy them to the clipboard to directly paste them into any common publishing system or web site.

Exporting publications

Unlimited PDF, ePub (in a format compatible with Apple Books and Kindle Publishing), and HTML exports of your full publication can be exported.

Supported Devices

Currently iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and Web are supported. We are already working on Android and Windows Apps as well. For updates subscribe to our newsletter.

How much does it cost?

Litopy is available through out online store powered by Stripe and on the AppStore on your device. For our online store prices go here.

There are no extra charges for the use of content generated with Litopy AI - you own the content and can publish it as many times and on as many channels as you like.

All licenses are cross platform and can be used on any supported device. Make sure you log in with the email address you used for the purchase to enable the AI Writing Tasks you purchased as part of your package or license.

Where can I get the Litopy App?

Litopy for iOS and iPadOS is available on the Apple AppStore, for Mac on the Mac App Store. The Web Edition can be accessed online through out web site (click "App Login" in the menu bar at the top of the page). The Android version will be published on the Google Play Store once it is available.

What are the minimum requirements to use the Litopy App?

Most current devices and OS versions with vendor support are supported (iOS, macOS, iPadOS, Android). For sync you need an Internet connection. If you have problems with any device, please contact our support team.

Can I use content generate with Litopy AI for commercial purposes?

Yes, you generally can use content generated with Litopy AI for commercial purposes, but there are important conditions and responsibilities you must follow.

1. User Ownership

• You own the content: Litopy generally does not claim copyright ownership over the content (text, images, etc.) you generate using your prompts with Litopy. This means you keep the rights to the output you create.

• Commercial Use is Permitted: This user ownership is the basis for why commercial use—such as for marketing, products, websites, or even selling generated images on stock marketplaces—is typically allowed.

2. Your Responsibilities (Crucial Caveats)

The most important condition is that you are responsible for the content you generate and its use. You must ensure that your generated content and your commercial use of it comply with all applicable laws and Litopy's policies.

Specifically, you must ensure your content does not:

• Infringe on Third-Party Rights: You must not violate anyone else's copyrights, trademarks, or privacy rights. For example, prompting Litopy to generate an image of a famous, copyrighted character would likely be an infringement.

• Violate the Prohibited Use Policy: Litopy's Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy strictly forbids using the tools to create or distribute content that is illegal, dangerous, hateful, sexually explicit, promotes violence, or is used for fraud or deception.

3. Attribution

• Attribution is generally not required in the core terms, meaning you typically do not need to explicitly credit "Litopy AI" for the content.

Is AI content original?

1. Technical Perspective: Yes, it is often novel but derivative.

Technically, AI-generated content is almost always "new" in the sense that the specific combination of words or pixels has never existed before, but it is fundamentally derivative of its training data.

• How AI Creates Content: Generative AI models learn the underlying patterns, structures, and styles of the massive datasets they were trained on (often scraped from the internet).

• Novel Combinations: The AI then uses this statistical knowledge to generate an output that is statistically probable for a given prompt. The resulting output is a novel combination or "complex remix" of the learned patterns, not a direct copy, but it is "limited by the data it has been trained on."

• Derivative Nature: Because it rearranges existing knowledge, critics argue that the output is inherently derivative, meaning it is based on or comes from prior work. 

2. Philosophical Perspective: No, it lacks genuine originality.

Philosophically, many arguments against originality center on the lack of consciousness and intention.

• Lovelace Objection: This view holds that AI is simply a highly sophisticated mimic, following rules and patterns programmed by humans and learned from data, rather than being an originator.

• Lack of Intent: True human creativity is seen as an innate ability that stems from emotions, personal experiences, and conscious intent. AI lacks this subjective inner life, emotional depth, and personal context, which are traditionally considered the hallmarks of genuine artistic originality. 

3. Legal and Copyright Perspective: No, not on its own.

Under current law in the United States and many other jurisdictions, purely AI-generated content is generally not considered original enough to qualify for copyright protection. 

The "Tool" Test: Content can be copyrighted if a human uses the AI as a mere tool and demonstrates "meaningful human involvement". This may include making creative choices with the prompt, significantly editing the output, or combining it with their own human-created work.
